My high school graduation cap
On my high school graduation cap, I referenced a quote from "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green. In the book, the main character Hazel gives a eulogy to her dying lover Augustus:
"There are infinite numbers between 0 and 1. There's .1 and .12 and .112 and infinite collection of others. Some infinities are bigger than other infinities. There are days, many of them, when I resent the size of my unbounded set. But, Gus, my love, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I'm grateful."
I might be a sucker for tragic love stories, but I think there's a lot of truth to this. Every single day, we are given a new set of infinite possibilities: some are big like landing your dream job, others are small like a precious 5-second embrace with your long-distance boyfriend before he leaves for 2 weeks (🥲).
Either way, we can choose to treat every experience as our own "little infinity". I don't really care how long I live, as long as I die realizing I was living in the present, appreciating every precious moment I have on this spinning rock.
So here's a list of all my small infinites. The list will be constantly updated as I experience new things. Call it a living document of my life if you will!
